Set on the edge of Pittwater in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this home is conceived as a series of grounded, monolithic forms that anchor the building into its landscape. Thick rammed earth walls establish a sense of permanence while providing thermal mass and protection from the coastal sun. The architecture unfolds through a careful composition of height, light and void, allowing the home to breathe and connect naturally with its surroundings.
Living spaces are oriented toward expansive water views, with large openings framing the landscape and dissolving the boundary between inside and out. A layered palette of natural materials – rammed earth, timber and stone – reinforces the home’s connection to place while creating warmth and texture throughout.
The planning prioritises family life, with generous communal spaces balanced by quieter, more private retreats. Deep overhangs, recessed openings and shaded terraces provide passive protection from the sun, ensuring the home remains cool, calm and intimately connected to the changing light and views of Pittwater.
